Attracted by the world’s leading Danish wind cluster, CSIC (Chongqing) Haizhuang Windpower Equipment launches a Danish R&D centre to strengthen their abilities in research and development and to ensure a pipeline of competitive products.

Especially access to cutting-edge knowledge, cooperation with research institutions, and unique facilities for development and testing are attractive to CSIC, and even though the details of the new Danish R&D centre are not yet settled Mr. Yang Benxin, the Chairman of CSIC(Chongqing) Haizhuang Wind Power Equipment Co,.Ltd, sees great potential:

With our new R&D centre, we will be able to improve, innovate and further develop our products, as we gain access to specialized Danish employees and cooperation partners in the sector. The heart of offshore wind power

CSIC (Chongqing) Haizhuang Windpower Equipment is a leading Chinese manufacturer of wind turbines and equipment. The company was founded in 2004 and is a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Cooperation. With the new base in Denmark CSIC wants to boost product development as a key element in becoming a global player in the wind industry.

Not least the rapidly growing demand for offshore wind solutions makes Denmark the ideal place for global wind power manufacturers like CSIC. Denmark was the first country to develop offshore wind parks, and in great numbers. Danish manufacturers had their fingerprint on 90 percent of the accumulated offshore wind power in the world in 2009.

Minister for Trade and Investment Ms. Pia Olsen Dyhr says: "China is heading for a green revolution and plans to install 180 gigawatts of wind and solar power capacity by 2020, equal to the capacity built by the rest of the world over the past 40 years. Becoming part of the Danish wind cluster is definitely the right place to look for technology to realize this ambitious green challenge.”

Industrial PhD’s and world class research facilities

CSIC is actively looking into cooperating with Danish researchers in association with DTU Wind Energy at the Danish Technical University by way of industrial PhD’s. DTU Wind Energy is one of Europe’s leading research laboratories for sustainable energy with large test facilities and an interdisciplinary research environment which makes it possible to create solutions across traditional professional boundaries and competences.

Minister for Trade and Investment Mrs. Pia Olsen Dyhr says: “Danish employees are highly qualified and known for their ability to work independently, to cooperate and be innovative. This is the perfect combination for the development of cutting-edge cleantech solutions, and I am looking forward to seeing concrete results of CSIC’s new R&D centre here in Denmark. This will benefit both CSIC and the Danish cleantech cluster.”
