Iran is aiming to boost its renewables sector. The current installed capacity of 240 MW is planned to increase to 5,000 MW by the end of 2020. Companies that are investing in renewables make it onto a shortlist to receive a tax incentive, assuming they fulfill conditions relating to the specific location and an output purchase agreement with the government. Despite the attractive tax incentives, the solar market in Iran remains challenging.

The Intersolar Summit Iran in Tehran on November 21, 2017 will welcome leading experts on solar power and renewable energy in the region. The 2016 event welcomed more than 400 attendees, twice as many as expected. Main discussions were about grid-integration solutions, financing and foreign investments. The Intersolar Summit Iran is a must-attend event for organizations and companies seeking to establish a foothold in the promising solar energy market in Iran. The new event The smarter E Europe, the innovation hub for empowering new energy solutions, has opened along with the four parallel energy exhibitions Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power. This marks the beginning of a new era for around 1,200 exhibitors and an expected 50,000 visitors in eight halls totaling 86,000 sqm. The smarter E Europe is a reaction to the increasing interconnection of the generation, storage, intelligent distribution and use of renewable energies. The focus of this new event is on the key issues of sector coupling, digitalization and decentralization. Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers and partners of the energy industry will be at Messe München until June 22, 2018.

IBC SOLAR AG and its Moroccan partner company SEWT sarl have delivered and installed an off-grid PV hybrid system with a capacity of 126 kW ordered by the National Moroccan Fishery Office. The system consists of 500 photovoltaic panels combined with batteries and diesel generators and is located in Aftissat, a fisher’s village in the province of Boujdour (Southern Morocco).
