Upsolar opens a new sales branch in Australia

29.03.2017

The module manufacturer and PV solutions provider Upsolar has announced a new office branch in Sydney. Upsolar Australia will bring new solutions for PV generation and smart grid management to the market and has signed a distribution agreement with Regalgrid Europe s.r.l., a specialist in smart grid technology.

The smart grid platform uses a patented algorithm that manages all data from PV production, energy consumption to storage batteries in real time. The technology is designed to optimize the usage of energy that is produced from solar generation and batteries. This can be achieved through a peer-to-peer (P2P) energy model which is a concept where any home could produce its own energy and sell its surplus to Regalgrid users. As Upsolar emphasizes, the technology will be highly advantageous to areas recently affected by the energy crisis that has caused blackouts in the southern regions of Australia.

In addition to its smart grid solution, Upsolar will launch its new series of UP-M300M and UPM-270P modules, both available with SolarEdge integrated optimizers. “It has become very apparent that Australia has a growing dependence on renewable energy,” said Enrico Carniato, Group Deputy General Manager of Upsolar. “Thanks to our mature experience in the European storage market we can meet that need by bringing an innovative and secure technology that can support all Australian homes with our roof mounted PVs, smart grid inverters and external lithium battery boxes.”

The storage specialist ADS-TEC will be presenting its new storage series in hall B1, booth 230 for the first time at “electrical energy storage” (ees) within the framework of “The smarter E Europe / Intersolar Europe 2019”. The scalable series is particularly flexible with regard in terms of capacity and performance. In addition to an indoor solution, the portfolio from this medium power range is also supplemented by an outdoor version. The integrated emergency power function makes the storage system suitable for a variety of storage applications.

The new event The smarter E Europe, the innovation hub for empowering new energy solutions, has opened along with the four parallel energy exhibitions Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power. This marks the beginning of a new era for around 1,200 exhibitors and an expected 50,000 visitors in eight halls totaling 86,000 sqm. The smarter E Europe is a reaction to the increasing interconnection of the generation, storage, intelligent distribution and use of renewable energies. The focus of this new event is on the key issues of sector coupling, digitalization and decentralization. Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers and partners of the energy industry will be at Messe München until June 22, 2018.
