UK Crown Estate announces an extra 2 GW offshore

The companies benefiting from the extensions are RWE, Dong, Vattenfall and Scottish and Southern Energy Renewables (SSE). According to the Crown Estate, three Round 1 and Round 2 offshore wind farm operators have been selected to extend five sites, creating an additional 1.7 GW.

Vestas: Valued German customer places order for 40 MW

Hamburg – Vestas is pleased to announce it has received an order for 20 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines from the UKA Group (UKA), for several wind energy projects in Eastern Germany. The total order has a capacity of 40 MW.

Vestas lands order for largest Australian wind power project

The Macarthur site is located in the Western District of Victoria, Australia, between the towns of Macarthur, Hawksdale and Penshurst. The farm will be installed jointly by Vestas and Leighton Contractors. The contract comprises a full engineering, procurement and construction contract (EPC), a ten-year service agreement and a Vestas Online Business SCADA solution.

Siemens expands North American business

The company is to supply wind turbines with a total power of 227 MW for a wind farm in the US state of Oklahoma. Siemens will deliver the 98 turbines to the local energy supplier Oklahoma Gas & Electric, and three of these will be from the new generation of transmissionless wind turbines. Siemens has landed an even bigger contract in Canada.

PGE wants to purchase 400 MW wind farm

Due to the agreement, PGE has the exclusive right to purchase the project by the end of 2010. PGE needs a great amount of renewable energy resources to meet Oregon’s renewable energy standards. RES Americas is currently pursuing state permits for the proposed facility in eastern Oregon.
