AD 8-180 prototype on final stretch

Adwen continues the development of its 8MW platform and has entered the final stages in the installation of the AD 8-180 prototype in Bremerhaven (Germany). After the foundation and the first three segments, including the power section, have been installed earlier this year, the fourth element is expected to be installed in the coming days. The fifth and final section will be installed at the same time as the nacelle. The world’s longest blades are already stored on the site ready to be lifted.

MHI Vestas creates more than 400 new manufacturing jobs in Denmark

After recently recruiting over 100 manufacturing jobs in the UK, MHI Vestas is turning its attention to manufacturing sites at Lindø and Nakskov, and is now recruiting 414 additional employees at the company’s Danish nacelle and blade factories.

DNV GL awards certification to Ingeteam’s manufacturing plant

Ingeteam, a global supplier of electrical conversion equipment with headquarters in Spain, has announced that it received DNV GL’s “Shop Approval in Renewable Energy” certification for its wind converter manufacturing facility in Northern Spain.

Deutsche Windtechnik awarded maintenance contract for Vestas turbines in France

In June 2017, Deutsche Windtechnik's French unit will begin providing maintenance for V90 turbines from Vestas for the first time. The full maintenance contracts will run for four years.

EDF Luminus, the second largest player in the Belgian energy market, has ordered nine wind turbines of the type SWT-3.2-113 at Siemens Wind Power for two projects located in Belgium.

Siemens' new direct-drive low wind turbine has reached the prototype testing stage. The installation of the SWT-3.15-142 at the Drantum wind test site has been completed last week. By the end of March it is expected to be fully operational. Than the testing focused on blade an performance evaluation will begin.

The merger of Siemens’ Wind Power business and Gamesa has today received unconditional clearance from the European competition authorities. Antitrust approvals have now been obtained in all required jurisdictions, and all the conditions precedent for the merger have been satisfied.

Senvion to to reduce workforce by 780

Senvion has announced the reduction of an estimated 780 jobs, mainly at Senvion's facilities in Husum, Trampe and Bremerhaven in Germany as part of an “extensive program” to secure competiveness. The company will meet with employees' representatives as soon as possible to begin the negotiations.
