White paper on grid connected solar power in India

Targeting 20 GW until 2022 in three phases, the Federal Government of India released a white paper on grid connected solar power projects. In a first phase India targets 1,000 MW to be installed until March 2013. The projects will provide for deployment of both PV and solar thermal projects in a ratio of 50:50, in MW terms.

Centrosolar publishes Q2 figures

The company can also report strong figures for its operative earnings before interest and taxes. With an EBIT of € 12.9 million, Centrosolar achieved a new quarterly record. In the first six months, the turnover totalled € 209 million and the EBIT € 21.1 million. In the first half of 2009, the turnover was € 122 million and the EBIT € -11.3 million.

Canadian Solar shows 1Q profit, lowers 4Q results

San Francisco - Canadian Solar Inc. reported a first-quarter profit Thursday as revenue from its solar cells climbed, and it revised its fourth-quarter results downward.

The solar cell maker's shares fell 52 cents, or 4.2 percent, to $12 in after-hours trading. The stock had finished regular trading up 81 cents, or 6.9 percent, at $12.52.
