Scheuten Solar expands its production capacity

09.03.2010: The Dutch company Scheuten Solar is increasing its module production capacity in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, by 60 MW. In the second half of this year, Scheuten wants to reach a total capacity of about 200 MW.

The company says it will double its production volume in 2010 in comparison with the previous year. For the Gelsenkirchen factory, Scheuten has acquired a multi-opening laminator and a stringer of the latest generation. According to Scheuten Solar, these units will be used to implement the world's first fully automated production line.

The line has an integrated quality assurance system and is designed such that it requires only little space. "With this state-of-the-art expansion we will be able to maximize the efficiency of the new line and to double our production volume in 2010 compared to 2009", stated Bart Kempen, Chief Operational Officer of Scheuten Solar.
