Solar installation for Prague Zoo
08.03.2010: Cooperation between IBC Solar, dena and Prague Zoo for the installation of a PV system.
In the context of the Solar Roof Programme of the German Energy Agency (dena), the German company IBC Solar AG will install a photovoltaic system at Prague Zoo. The 17 kW system will be installed on the zoo roof in mid-April and will produce 15,700 kWh of electricity annually. The electricity will primarily be used to cover the zoo's own consumption, for which a tariff equivalent to 43 €ct/kWh is currently paid in the Czech Republic. In order to expand the utilization of photovoltaics in the Czech Republic further, IBC is offering a series of free training sessions for installers from the end of March 2010 onwards. The curriculum will include the basics of photovoltaics. The Solar Roof Programme is part of the Export Initiative Renewable Energies, which is co-funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The initiative supports German companies in realizing export projects in the field of renewable energies.
