SumVerter SV & SVC: Power inverters and inverter-chargers for PV off-grid systems made in Spain

SumSol, one of the most known and prestigious distributors in PV solar market, has launched its own range of electronic devices manufactured in Spain. The vast market experience selling products for PV stand alone systems, has allowed the design and manufacture of inverters and inverter-charges with specific characteristics for a perfect performance and easy operation: SumVerter.

The power range is from 1,2 to 5 kVA, with input voltages of 12, 24 and 48 Vdc. They are robust and reliable devices, with a design based on simplicity: connect and work, without complex previous programming, which is what really needs the user of this kind of systems.

The device includes proper DC cables for each voltage and power. To avoid damages in delicate loads the SumVerter provides a pure sine wave AC output. The reverse polarity protection avoids serious damages caused by small forgetfulness. Also protections against overload, short circuit, over-temperature, high and low battery voltage,… are included.

To know the status of the installation at all times, SumVerter includes a LCD display. The adjustable “search mode” function makes possible a low power consumption. Also its programmable relay can be used to send the start signal to a generator or to an alarm when the battery arrives to a low voltage status.

SumVerter SVC version includes a three stages charger: absorption, float and equalization. This last charge step can be also activated manually. All loads are automatically powered directly from an AC external source when available through its automatic transfer switch.

SumVerter is supplied with a configuration for operation in standard photovoltaic systems, but is possible to change easily all voltage values without any accessory (software, laptop, etc,..), only using the frontal keypad.

Slowly but surely the floating offshore wind energy sector is becoming more and more important, particularly because of the fact that the number of locations with shallow waters suitable for fixed-bottom foundations is limited. Floating wind is turning into a highly scalable future energy source because the wind resource in deep waters is extensive and offers a significant potential for marine renewable energy development and growth to many countries.

Schaeffler and ZF use jointly developed expert models to analyze and predict the condition of wind turbine gearboxes based on the actual loads that occur during operation

ZF Friedrichshafen and Schaeffler are collaborating to develop new solutions for predicting the operating life of wind turbine gearbox components based on the actual loads that occur during operation. Since September, the first wind turbine gearboxes equipped with sensors and condition monitoring systems have been supplying operating data to a cloud-to-cloud solution to enable this to happen.

Year 2018 was another consecutive year of dynamic development of photovoltaics in Poland – particularly in the field of micro-plants, whose number exceeded 27k, with total power of more than 160 MWp. This is an impressive result. Information gathered by Stowarzyszenie Branży Fotowoltaicznej Polska PV (SBF Polska PV, PV Poland Society for Photovoltaics), in cooperation with the Globenergia editors, shows the dynamics of photovoltaic industry development in all fields.

Storage rack systems as closed indoor cabinet versions (pict.: ADS-TEC Home & Small Business)

The storage specialist ADS-TEC will be presenting its new storage series in hall B1, booth 230 for the first time at “electrical energy storage” (ees) within the framework of “The smarter E Europe / Intersolar Europe 2019”. The scalable series is particularly flexible with regard in terms of capacity and performance. In addition to an indoor solution, the portfolio from this medium power range is also supplemented by an outdoor version. The integrated emergency power function makes the storage system suitable for a variety of storage applications.
