Achieving excellence: Romax Awarded GL Design Assessment for 3MW Gearbox Design

Global engineering consultancy Romax Technology is pleased to announce that its 3MW DHWG3000 gearbox has been awarded a GL Renewables Certification (GL) B-Design Assessment. The DHWG3000 gearbox, designed by Romax, is currently in volume production for Sinovel's SL3000 turbines and is manufactured by Dalian Huarui.

Siemens receives second order for direct drive wind turbines in the U.S.

Siemens Energy will supply 15 of its SWT-3.0-101 direct drive wind turbines for Minnesota Power's Bison 1 wind power plant near Center, North Dakota. Minnesota Power modified its original order, replacing 33 Siemens SWT-2.3-101 geared wind turbines to now include 16 2.3-MW SWT-2.3-101 and 15 innovative 3-MW SWT-3.0-101 direct drive machines.


Siemens wins maintenance contracts for offshore electric grid connections in the North Sea

After having won the orders to build the two North Sea grid connections HelWin1 and BorWin2 in the summer of this year, Siemens has now also been contracted to carry out their entire maintenance.

GAMESA picks up contract to maintain new wind farms in France and Germany

Madrid/Zamudio, 23 September 2010. Gamesa, the global leader in the design, manufacture and maintenance of wind turbines, has won an operation and maintenance (O&M) contract covering a total of 21 wind farms located in France and Germany. These facilities, all owned by Iberdrola Renovables, have aggregate capacity of 163 MW.


GAMESA sells german wind farms with combined caoacity of 45 MW to IKEA Group

Madrid / Bilbao - Gamesa, a leading wind turbine manufacturer and a key global player in wind farm development, has sold a total of six German wind farms in four locations with combined installed capacity of 45.05 MW to IKEA Group in Germany.

Green light for offshore wind farms

The public authorities have decided to select ten or so sites for offshore wind farms in the Bretagne and Pays-de-la-Loire regions. The Ministry for the Environment will be issuing invitations to tender between now and October.
