Siemens receives European onshore wind orders providing about 360 megawatts

In the first four months of 2011, Siemens Energy has received a total of eleven European orders for delivery and installation of 151 onshore wind turbines, with combined capacity of about 360 megawatts (MW). The installed capacity of these eleven orders will be sufficient to supply up to 230,000 European households with clean electricity.

Gamesa signs a EUR 1.2 billion syndicated loan due 2014-2016

Bilbao / Madrid - Today, Gamesa, a global leader in the design, manufacture and maintenance of wind turbines and a benchmark wind farm developer, signed a new EUR 1.2 billion syndicated loan with 24 banks, refinancing the existing loan due October 2012.

DNV accredited for power quality testing of wind turbines

Seattle - DNV announces that it has obtained accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for power quality testing on wind turbines. The DNV Seattle office, which obtained the accreditation, now provides power quality testing services to global customers along with accredited power performance, acoustic, and loads measurement services.

Gamesa to supply turbines totalling 80 MW to two aldesa wind farms in Spain

Bilbao / Madrid - Gamesa, a global leader in wind turbine design, manufacturing and maintenance, has reached an agreement with builder Aldesa to supply 80 MW of wind turbine capacity to two wind farms, La Tella and Palomarejo, which the construction company will develop in the Spanish communities of Jumilla (Murcia) and Ecija (Seville).

Green Light for Egg Suppliers Wind Turbine

The UK's largest supplier of eggs and egg-based products, Noble Foods, has this week received planning permission to install a 110m commercial-scale wind turbine on land at Thornton, Fife.

The 1.5 MW wind turbine project is being developed and installed by on-site generation specialist Wind Direct and has been granted conditional approval by Fife Council.

Huge turbine with superconductivity

The GE Global Research Division, responsible for technological development within the company, plans to develop a turbine with a nominal capacity of 10 to 15 MW within the next two years - twice as big as the Vestas V164, the biggest turbine currently on the market with a nominal rating of 7 MW.

Swedens largest wind project financing completed

London - Private equity fund manager Platina Partners LLP (Platina) and Swedish onshore wind developer Arise Windpower AB, have completed Sweden's largest ever wind project financing, the EUR 336 million, Jadraas windfarm. At 200MW, the project - to be built in two phases - will be one of the largest onshore wind farms in Europe.

Petrobras connects its first wind farm to the grid

The wind farm was built in partnership with Electrobras, Alubar Energia and Wobben WindPower. The wind farm is equipped with 52 wind turbines of 2 MW each with 42 metre long blades giving a total output of 104 MW.
