An unprecedented coalition of over 160 energy providers, consumers good companies, non-profit organisations, schools, academics and public institutions wrote to the British Chancellor asking to drop the proposed rise in business rates for solar panels.

In the first cross-border tender for ground-mounted PV plants in Germany and Denmark, Danish projects were awarded contracts for the entire expansion volume of 50 MW. The auction price was 5.38 cents/kWh.

Ingeteam is finalizing the launch of its new PV string inverter, which will make it possible to achieve a power output of 100 kWAC in a single, 75 kg unit. The inverter will be on show at the Solar-Tec fair in Cairo from the 4th to 6th December, and is set to go into production in June 2017.

The Swedish government has announced that it will abolish taxes on solar electricity. The Swedish about-face on the solar energy tax, which was introduced in 2015, demonstrates that the country is back on its way to become one of the world's first fossil-free countries.


Phoenix Solar and Asunim complete 9.1 MW PV plant in Turkey

The German project developer Phoenix Solar AG and its Turkish partner Asunim Yenilenebilir Enerji Teknolojileri have announced the connected of the 9.1 MW "Solentegre" power plant to the grid. The PV plant was built for the customer Akfen Renewable Energies and is located in Elazığ in Eastern Turkey.


ABB to power 315 kW private solar rooftop in Dubai

A 315 kW solar rooftop will be powered at the Al Quoz facility in Dubai, VAE. According to the company, the electricity will be used for powering the ABB office while feeding any surplus power to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) grid.
