New certification guideline

GL Renewables Certification (GL RC) has published its new “Guideline for the Certification of Offshore Wind Turbines”. It provides a fully integrated design and analysis concept for offshore wind turbines.

BSH publishes grid plan for the North Sea

The February, the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has presented the "Federal Plan for Offshore in the North Sea", the grid plan for Germany. It substantiates and complements the maritime spatial planning around the power grids.

Offshore test side off the Aberdeen coast approved

The Scottish Government announced consent for the development of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) at Aberdeen Bay. The development consists of 11 wind turbines and their connecting cables, sited between 2 and 4.5 km off the Aberdeenshire coast, capable of generating up to 100 MW.

PNE WIND AG completes construction of the Zernitz II wind farm

Cuxhaven - The wind farm project developer, PNE WIND AG, has completed the construction of the “Zernitz II” wind farm in Brandenburg comprising of three Vestas V90 wind turbines with a hub height of 95 meters and a total nominal capacity of 6 MW. The wind turbines are already operating.

Power performance measurement achieved for Alstom’s 6MW offshore wind turbine

Alstom’s new-generation HaliadeTM 150 - 6MW offshore wind turbine has successfully obtained the IEC power performance measurement (power curve) after 3 months of performance measurements at Le Carnet site, in France. This key milestone in the type testing certification process follows on from the completion of the 6MW commissioning and exhaustive testing activity.

Euros ships 81.6 m long rotor blade

Three months after the inauguration of the prototype production facility in Sassnitz / Mukran on the German island of Rügen, Euros Entwicklungsgesellschaft für Windkraftanlagen mbH has delivered and shipped the first offshore rotor blade to their customer Mitsubishi.

Seajacks International, offshore installation contractor, has entered into a contract with Samsung Heavy Industries to build an offshore wind farm installation vessel. The vessel has been specifically designed to meet the demands associated with working UK Round 3, Scottish territorial waters and the other North West European markets.

The Active Fire Fighting System (AFFS) from Siemens has been certified by VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH and Germanischer Lloyd and is now officially approved for the protection of offshore wind turbines.
